Athletics day

Last Thursday we had sports with different kinds of activities.
Our principal put us in house colours. I was in Te Tatua (yellow)
with other people. First activity was gumboots throw. Kori the house
captain in our team threw the gumboot and had beaten our high score.
Next we went to the long jump. Everyone was excited doing the long jump.
When everyone got their turn, it was my turn. Now I ran very quick and got t
he longest jump. After long jump we moved to tail chase.
Our coach Mr Tyrell chose the tagger but it wasn't me. It
was Kori again. He was so fast that he could get everyone in one go. I
was too fast for him. He tagged everyone and tried to tag me.
I got tagged within one minute and 3 seconds. Then we moved
on to throwing bean bag toys. Siaki had his first turn then it was my turn.
I shot the first basket and my last bean bag toy went to the furthest basket.
Then we switched again to the skipping rope race. We had Mrs Heimuli as
our coach. She said to us “Use the skipping ropes to the other side and then
come back”. She was a little harsh on us. Next we went to the three legged race.
My partner was Timnet. When Mrs. Whyburd said “Go” we almost fell. We came
first in two rounds and lost one round. Now we went
to the last activity called the sack race. Now this time I switched
partners with Timnet then Theresa. I was in the sack and tried to run instead.
I had to jump. I passed the sack to Theresa and came 3rd place every single
round.
Conclusion: I had fun at the athletics sports day. It was tiring during the day.
My favourite game was long jump.
