Camp Recount

 

Camp

Camp was always fun with parents but going camp by yourself felt lonely.

Day 1

At the start of the camp I was slowly getting reckless because the bus was a bit late but finally the bus arrived. We had to put the luggage on the bus. I sat at the front with Ching just waiting for the passengers/ kids to go on the bus. When the bus went I talked to Ching. During the trip the sun was hitting our eyes but luckily the bus had curtains so we used the curtains to block the radiation from the sun. 

After the bus trip we arrived at camp. We got our luggage and our bags. The instructors introduced their names. The names of the staff were, Soul, Sam/ the leader of camp, Jacky Chan, Star Lord, Jess and Kellen. We went to our sleeping quarters and chose our beds. 

Our first activity was sailing a dinghy with our life jackets. Soul showed us the parts of the dinghy after telling us the parts of the boat. We moved the boat to the sea and all of us went on the boat. After we tried the swimming survival Soul said “ Who wants to swim back to the beach or row back to the beach?” I chose to swim back to the beach. It was a bit deep and it was freezing cold. I swam to the beach and I finally did it. 

I went straight to the shower and it was so hot. It felt like I was in paradise. I went to the sleeping quarters and changed my clothes. After lunch we went to the slippery rocks. At activity two we had to  find some sea creatures. After a while of finding sea creatures my partner Ethan slipped and hurt his finger. I was helping Ethan then I stepped on one of the rocks and slipped but I landed safely at the end of searching sea creatures. Ceazah-Blue slipped and hurt his leg and it was bleeding. 

At night time we ate macaroni and cheese and hot dogs. Our dessert was ice cream with chocolate sprinkles. After dinner we went to sleep. The noise level was so loud I could not sleep. 

Day 2

 We went to exercise. Our exercise was jogging to the other side of the beach. Ben Hur’s slippers were taken by a dog named Ella Bella Bum Bum. Then she went chasing Ken P. It was chaotic. After a funny time doing exercise we went kayaking with wetsuits on.

 My partner was Ben Hur. We were paddling towards the ocean. After having fun we went back to the beach. We went on the paddle board and paddled toward the coral reef. I wasn't going in the water because I was cold.  We went back to camp and I had to take a shower and change my clothes again.

 We went to make a fire. Afterwards, we went to the cafeteria and had sandwiches,  macaroni and cheese. I waited in line and it took a few minutes to choose our food. We took a bite of the sandwich. It was so good my mouth was drooling. We went back to the dorm. We prayed and went to sleep. But Mr Lelo told someone to go to the dormitory.

Day Three 

We washed the bathrooms. It was kind of gross and fun at the same time.

For breakfast,  I ate Rice Bubbles.  During activity three we did an activity called Stack’em. I stacked the boxes to the top and I did it. Then we went rock climbing. I did the hard climb and reached the top. 

During activity four we went mountain biking. It was a small hill and we had to follow the leader but when I turned right I almost drifted.  Then we went back to camp to say farewell. We had to pack our bags and wait for the bus to arrive but it took a very long time. It reached 7:00pm. One of the staff found us waiting, so we watched a movie called the Spy Next Door. I was freezing cold even when I watched the movie in the hall. The movie stopped at 5 minutes because the bus was 15 minutes away. We waited until it arrived. I was cold so I waited in line to put my luggage at the side of the bus. After all of the kids put their luggage inside the bus, we were off.

 It was warm inside so I sat next to Ethan and had a chat. When we arrived we went outside to get our bags and luggage. Then I found my Mum and Dad waiting outside. I hugged them and went to the car where they had korean chicken and pizza. It was so good and I was eating the chicken while my Dad was driving back home.
